Introducing Hostaro Tableware, The Tableware Stylist

29th September 2020:  Founded by tableware stylist Samantha Ashe, Hostaro Tableware is a new Irish online store.  Located at hostarotableware.com, the new online store will sell a range of tableware, while providing styling inspiration for table settings, allowing customers to recreate that look in their own home. 

The pieces featured in each table setting are carefully curated from stylish brands sourced throughout Europe, to bring attainable, luxurious, and on-trend pieces to Irish tables.  These pieces will be sold in seasonal collections, so that the customer can build on their own collection over time.

#Tablescapes – or styled table settings - have become increasingly popular over the last few years, and with the recent pandemic the Irish have started to entertain more at home.  Hostaro will start off delivering to Ireland and the UK with free delivery to Irish customers when they spend over €75 and free for UK customers when they spend over €100.

Samantha Ashe says:  “I conducted a survey earlier this year, and it was interesting to discover that Irish people have started to entertain more at home during the pandemic.  Indeed, I found that this trend had begun even prior to Covid- 19.  And though the industry has been hit with Covid, some brands have actually found that their online consumer business had increased.”

She continues:  “ I’m optimistic about launching a new online business during these times.  Although visitors into people’s homes are restricted, and will be for some time to come, people still need to enjoy their meals and drinks in their own homes – particularly as they will be spending a lot more time at home!"

“Hostaro Tableware can offer something more special so that its customers can enjoy a much nicer experience in their own home and creating a table setting that differentiates every day to a special evening / occasion.”

Samantha also offers a bespoke consultation service, where she will work closely with the customer to get an in-depth understanding on his/her needs and wants. She will develop a customised mood board inspired by the palettes and styles of the customers’ interiors. She will then source complementary pieces which the customer can purchase; in essence creating their very own bespoke perfect table setting. This service will be available for a special launch price of €250. This service can be offered virtually through a video call or Samantha can visit the person’s home for a small call out fee depending on the location.

Aida is a Danish brand that sets the daily dinner table with tableware, glassware, cutlery, kitchenware and giftware in a functional design and good quality at everyday prices. Hostaro Tableware has chosen their 16-piece gold cutlery set priced at €102.90 and gold serving salad spoon and fork for €29.40.

Alexandre Turpault

Beautiful pure linen, weaved, dyed, and embroidered in France, with a stain release treatment for most of their products. Hostaro has picked a simple hemstitched linen table runner in two different sizes and napkins to match in a dark grey. Other colours and other sizes are available to order on request. Prices start for the table runner at €77.42. The beauty about linen is that it gets better with age and washes, making them ideal investment pieces.

Caulfield Country Boards

A fantastic Irish brand, Caulfield Country Boards pride themselves on being a small, unique, family run, Irish business.  Their contemporary tableware and kitchen accessories are practical, charming and innovatively designed.  All their creations are designed and made in Co. Meath, from beautiful, sustainably sourced hardwoods. Hostaro has selected the Stag Paddle board selling at €49 and the Walnut cheese paddles which are sold in 3 different sizes starting at €21.56.

LSA International

LSA International, a well-known brand here in Ireland offers contemporary glassware and porcelain worked with traditional craftmanship, working with skilled artisans to experiment and push boundaries to create stunning and contemporary products. Hostaro has selected a number of products from their gin collections. Gin has become increasingly popular and the desire for big balloon gin glasses on a stem is on the rise.  The selection that Hostaro is selling starts from €35.28 for a set of 4 balloon gin glasses and high ball glasses for 2 is priced at €29.40. 

Luigi Bormioli

Luigi Bormioli glassware from Parma, Italy is single piece lead free crystal machine produced; they are world leaders in this field. The advantage of using a machine manufactured crystal is that it is not only more affordable but can be handled in a more liberal way including dishwashing where appropriate.  Hostaro Tableware has chosen the The Meravigliosi (The Marvellous) range. Each glass is produced with  the finest walls and stems that are just 5mm thick. They are also Titanium coated for additional strength. The crystal is sparkling and clear so you can appreciate and enjoy the real colour of your wine. This beautiful design is a best seller, allowing you and your guests to sit back and enjoy the feeling of the glass complimented with its flat base and long stem. Hostaro has chosen stunning marble and mango wood serving / chopping boards. The weight in these really tells the authenticity of the products. Hostaro will sell three different types of these boards starting at €37.24.


Made from fine Porcelain in Portugal, they are known for their whiteness in colour, with handed painted gold rim, shiny exterior and resistant.  Perfect for entertaining your guests or to give as a gift.  Porcel combines handmade tradition and technological innovation into the making of each piece resulting in high quality, elegant and creative dinnerware. Hostaro Tableware has chosen their white with gold rim dinner sets priced at €292.04 for a 16-piece set and their matching serveware starting from €73.50.


Salt&Pepper from the Netherlands is known for developing contemporary home accessories, consistently producing cutting edge ranges built on fashion, quality, and affordability.  Hostaro has chosen gold candle holders and napkin rings as accessories. They are sold in pairs to give the customer more bang for their buck. Two candle holders are priced at €19.60 and eight napkin rings at €29.40.


WMF features old cutlery from Germany, which is supplied to hotels and catering companies globally. Hostaro Tableware has chosen this gold cutlery set for its customers. The pieces featured are 18/10 cutlery pieces which they then coat with PVD.  WMF will give Hostaro’s customers 12 months guarantee on their products. The cost for a 28 piece set is priced at €362.60. 

About Samantha Ashe:

Samantha Ashe is a married mum of two young boys from Dublin, and is passionate about entertaining at home and creating that perfect table setting. Samantha’s background is in Marketing and Events.  Most recently, she acted as Marketing Consultant for brands including Cuisine de France, and Marketing Manager for Fields the Jeweller.

After 20 years working in marketing, events and styling photoshoots she decided to start up Hostaro Tableware and work on something she loves and is passionate about.  She wanted to offer a complete tableware service to her customers, by styling table settings and curating tableware from around Europe.

Q4. In order which tableware category would you be interested in buying #1 being most interested in buying?

  • Drinksware came first, then serveware, then dinnerware followed by table décor.

  • 63% said yes sometimes
  • 6% said yes, all the time
  • 3% said no
